Alpha shaped with a good deal of promise on her debut at Leopardstown, running on takingly under a considerate ride to finish second.
It was surely significant that she was well backed that day and she has a fine pedigree being by Sea the Stars out of the Group One-winning mare Alpha Centauri.
She looks certain to take a big step forward with Ryan Moore taking over in the irons.

3.20 Curragh: Isaac Newton

Issac Newton got his act together when winning a Listed race at Navan last time out and can take another step forward today.
He overcame plenty of trouble in running that day utilising a sharp turn of foot and having just had seven career starts he is open to plenty of improvement.
He was Group One-placed as a two-year-old and I expect him to be good enough to land this strong Group Three contest.

4.35 Curragh: Benvenuto Cellini

It should not be underestimated just how heavy the conditions were at Epsom for the Derby and although Benvenuto Cellini was declared a non runner he clearly did not give his running under those conditions.
He is much better judged by his Chester Vase success where he won by 4 ½ lengths in a fast time.
He has a long stride and a low cadence which means he should be ideally suited to a mile and a half, but most importantly he moves like a horse who needs fast ground to give of his best and conditions today will suit ideally.
5.15 Curragh: Rolltight

Finished: 5thSP: 9/2
Rolltight makes his handicap debut off a mark of 88 and that could be a generous rating given that the form of his maiden win at Gowran Park last time out got a boost on Friday when the runner-up Loughrea won at the Curragh.
He steps up a furlong in trip which looks sure to suit and although this is a competitive handicap he is one of the least exposed runners with plenty more to give.
