1.50 Goodwood: Ciarrai Dai
My way into these ultra-competitive handicaps at the big Festivals is to always look for a contender that might improve for doing something different, and after four runs over a mile, Ciarrai Abu is stepping up to ten furlongs here.
His record so far has probably been impressive enough to make him favourite for this event, anyway, even though he only got up in the shadow of the post at Ascot last time out.
He still looked to be learning there, and definitely signalled that improvement, possibly significantly, is on the horizon with this step up in distance.
Stall two certainly doesn’t look a negative, and he gets the vote.

4.10 Goodwood: Truly Glamorous
Even though Christopher Mason’s gelding is 2lb out of the handicap here, he is improving quick enough to go very close.
He is 8lb higher than when winning his second sprint last time out, but he was vastly superior to his rivals in that Newbury contest, and hung violently right once hitting the front.
However, I am prepared to put that down to him still being very green at this stage of his career and, given that his dam was rated 107 at her best, there's still considerable potential upside off this mark of 74.
5.55 Goodwood: Get Outta Here
I am looking for a Jamie Spencer special on this locally-trained gelding who looks likely to be sitting last in the early part of the race.
He came from last to first when winning his maiden at Lingfield in the Spring and then went on to run his best race over this course and distance in June (a race that has worked out really well).
He didn’t quite repeat that form last time out, but the set up here, with a fast pace pretty much guaranteed might suit him ideally, and I am expecting another big run from David Menuisier's charge.
