Extremely Zain continues Haggas hot streak in Garrowby Stakes

Just 24 hours on from Almeraq's scintillating win in the Betfair Sprint Cup, team Haggas were celebrating once again as the Cieren Fallon-ridden colt - who had been doing most of his racing over further - relished the relative test of stamina to land the listed sprint and follow in the footsteps of last year's winning stablemate Elmonjed. 

The Andrew Balding-trained Double Rush was a well-backed favourite and held every chance a furlong from home under Shane Foley, but was unable to peg back the winner, with Kevin Ryan's Dickensian staying on well from off the pace to pip the front-running Regional for third. 

Fallon told Racing TV: "He's a very good horse and he's shown a lot of speed. It was a bold decision to come back to six and the right one. 

"He can just be in your hands a little bit and at Ascot you can't get away with it. On his homework as well we decided to come back 

"They go faster so you can settle easier."
