Harry Allwood, Andy Stephens (RaceiQ) and Alex Scott share selections for the top-class action at Sandown Park on Thursday evening, available to watch LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on Racing TV.
5.42 Sandown: Where Love Lives
Tipster: Andy Stephens.
Best odds: 4-1.
Where Love Lives owes his name to a dance anthem, and he cut some great shapes when winning on his debut at Thirsk.
His mum and dad were both fast juveniles – they won the Molecomb and Super Sprint between them – and he’s clearly inherited some of their zip, being quickest to 20mph (2.33sec) on his debut at Thirsk and never being headed.
He raced most professionally, clocking Par furlongs all the way and dipping 0.83 seconds under the overall RaceiQ Par Time. He was fastest through furlongs 1, 4 and 5 and the Time Index was 6.9, when the meeting average was 4.4.
The front two pulled well clear and the runner-up, Hickory Lad, went one better next time before chasing home the useful Adonius in the Lily Agnes at Chester. The 4-1 on offer looks fair enough.
6.12 Sandown: Sweet William
Tipster: Alex Scott.
Best odds: Evens.
Popular stayer Sweet William can make it two wins from as many starts at Sandown in the first Group race of the evening, the Star Sports Henry II Stakes.
A winner of this race in 2024, the seven-year-old has arguably posted career-best efforts on his last two runs, finishing second to the top-class Trawlerman in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot and then returning to the same track with a gutsy win in the Sagaro Stakes four weeks ago.
The runner-up Caballo De Mar has subsequnelty won a strong renewal of the Group One Prix Vicomtesse Vigier in France.
A similar effort to that here should be good enough and he get his ideal trip and conditions. There are also enough doubts surrounding his main market rivals to think his current odds of even-money are simply too big.

6.42 Sandown: Andab
Tipster: Alex Scott.
Best odds: 10-1 (each-way).
Charlie Appleby has three runners in the Listed Star Sports Heron Stakes over a mile, plus John and Thady Gosden’s colt Yazin must have a big chance, but at double-figure odds, the battle-hardened Andab looks the value play for Joseph O’Brien, with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle.
The son of Saxon Warrior was a huge eyecatcher last time at the Curragh where he had no luck in running, yet still finished second, and the Aidan O’Brien-trained winner has subsequently scored at Group level.
Andab’s back form is up there with the best in this race too, having chased home the likes of Zavateri, Rayif and Dorset in Pattern races last summer. At 10-1, he looks well worth backing each-way and ticks plenty of boxes.
7.12 Sandown: Ombudsman
Tipster: Harry Allwood.
Best odds: 10-11.
There are a few red flags, and John Gosden warning punters that OMBUDSMAN won't be 100% fit here is one of them, but he has plenty in hand on official ratings, despite having to concede 7lb to each rival, and it's hard to confidently take him on, with his rivals needing him to underperform considerably to strike.
It's also worth noting he did score at Meydan in March, following a 161-day absence, so he's not returning from a full winter break, and it's unlikely he will need to be at his very best to score, anyway.
Gethin is the obvious danger, although he's likely to continue progressing throughout the season, based on Owen Burrows' comments on Racing TV following his Kempton success, and the form of his recent win has not worked out well.
Almeric is clearly held in high regard by connections, although he needs to show more this season, and take a sizeable step forward from his recent return over this course and distance, while Wimbledon Hawkeye, Bedouin Prince and Arabian Light all need to improve considerably to score.
7.45 Sandown: Saytarr
Tipster: RaceiQ nap of the day (Andy Stephens).
Best odds: 8-1.
Raammee is the odds-on favourite after following up his dramatic debut win at Kempton with a 12-length romp at Newcastle. The form has holes in it, though, and his times have been nothing special.
The early 8-1 on offer from William Hill about Saytarr (they are also offering three places for each-way players) makes much more appeal as there is a lot less guesswork involved in gauging his merit.
After reeling off a hat-trick of wins on the all-weather, when boasting the best Finishing Speed Percentage each time, he was a fine third at Ascot on his latest start.
Slow to reach 20mph, he sat last of the 11 runners for the first half of the race and still had only one behind him with two furlongs left to run. He built on being fastest of all in furlong six by zooming to the head of affairs in furlong seven but that left him vulnerable in the final 220 yards and he could not quite finish the job off.
A 1lb rise looks lenient and he is reunited with Dan Muscutt, who is 3/3 on him.
