Five horses to follow at Listowel and Hamilton on Sunday

Profile: Fourth behind subsequent Cheltenham bumper winner Celestial Tune in a mares’ bumper at last year’s Listowel Festival on her racecourse debut, she was impressive in winning her maiden hurdle at Roscommon last month on just her third run over hurdles.  A sister to Dream On Baby, from the family of Wichita Lineman and Rhinestone Cowboy, she is only five and has raced just three times over hurdles, so she has lots of scope for progression.

Eric McNamara says: “She’s a good mare.  She has improved with every run and we’re looking forward to seeing how she goes.  It would be great if she could get the week off to a good start.”

Best odds: 7-1.

This nine-year-old is dangerously well-handicapped, and is well suited to testing ground. 

His last win came at this track in 2025 off a rating of 68, and the fact that he gets to race off a mark of 54 here speaks for itself. 

The key to him exploiting this mark is the ground, which will be testing, and that will give him the perfect opportunity for another success.

Best odds: 3-1.

This eight-year-old is still well handicapped, even with the penalty for winning the Zenith Ltd Building Partnerships That Last Handicap at Ayr on Friday by a length.

This ground is also spot on for him, and he's my nap of the day on Sunday.

Tipster: Johnny Ward.

Best odds: 11-1.

Dropping back in trip looks key to Costacurta's chances here, and he has the assistance of the excellent Mikey O'Connor. 

I firmly believe he has good scope off this mark, and he's my nap of the day on day one of the 2026 Listowel Harvest Festival, live on Racing TV.

Best odds: 7-1.

Flying Moonlight only just went down in a prolonged battle last time out at Ayr, but he can gain compensation here. 

That was his first start over a mile and a quarter, and he gave the impression on that occasion a further step up in trip could help him even further. 

While these conditions are likely to be slower than what he has been racing on recently he showed earlier in the season he handles soft ground when finishing third at Ayr. 

His cause is further boosted with the weight he receives of all his rivals, all of which points to a big run being on the cards.
