3.00 York: Marvelman
Conditions on turf have yet to fall the way of Marvelman in order for him to show his best, but he could finally have his moment in the sun.
The son of Invincible Spirit’s best performance last year came on soft ground up at Doncaster in the Group Two Park Stakes, and with all the rain that has hit York this week that brings him into contention.
Although he has been unable to replicate that performance, his run in defeat on quick ground last time out behind Lake Forest in the Group Two Lennox Stakes was adequate enough to think with the right conditions he could turn the tables.
Andrew Balding has his string in fine form, and although Marvelman has work to do on the ratings, he could represent some value.

3.19 Newmarket: Words Of Truth
Words Of Truth missed his first engagement against elders when scoping wrong back in June, but he can make up for lost time here.
Prince Of India could prove hard to beat follow his fine effort in last weekend’s Hungerford Stakes, however Charlie Appleby’s charge arrives here fresh and still unexposed.
His last win was over five furlongs at Sandown Park, but the return to six furlongs should not be no issue, nor should any rain that hits the track.
With plenty of his rivals out of sorts, or fully exposed, the son of Lope De Vega looks the one to be with.
3.35 York: Daiquiri Bay
There has been plenty of talk regarding the Irish raiders once again in this year’s Ebor, however they could find it tough to pass Daiquiri Bay.
The Alan King-trained four-year-old didn’t quite see out the trip in last year’s Melrose over course and distance, but he has returned a different individual this season.
After making a winning return at Newmarket, the son of New Bay then took another step forward back over a mile and three quarters in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot.
He has been nudged up five pounds for that win, however a Group One entry in the Long Distance Cup suggests he still has more in the locker.
Although he is yet to tackle soft ground, his pedigree suggests he will have no problems handling it.

7.00 Redcar: Missmimi
Missmimi shaped with plenty of encouragement on her first start of the season over five furlongs at Pontefract, and she can build on that effort now upped back in trip.
It was only late on that the daughter of Equiano weakened out of matters on that occasion, which was also her first run since undergoing a wind operation.
With that effort in the bag she will strip much fitter here, while the return to six furlongs is another plus given her last start over the trip on turf resulted in a win over course and distance.
