1.00 Market Rasen: Moore Brion
Olly Murphy is well represented at Market Rasen, a track where he has a 26 per cent strike-rate over the past five years, and his hurdles debutant Moore Brion can set the ball rolling in the opener.
Despite still appearing to be a work in progress, he gave generously under pressure when defying a penalty in a Uttoxeter bumper in March and, with Market Rasen experience to draw on, he’s preferred to the returning Kaldoun Des Rocs who has a few slight questions to answer following wind surgery.

2.41 Market Rasen: Livin On Luco (NAP)
Paper Mill (now wearing blinkers) is the only one of these to have the benefit of a recent run, but he was only workmanlike when winning from a 5lb lower mark in a lesser Class 4 at Southwell, and this is a whole different ball game.
The nap selection, Livin On Luco, has won on his seasonal reappearance in each of the last two years, including in the stamina-sapping Southern National at Fontwell last November, and it goes without saying that it is a major boost that the reigning champion Sean Bowen is booked to ride.
Philip Hobbs and Johnson White’s 8yo took in some top-quality staying handicaps last year, including the Welsh
Grand National (fourth), the Eider Chase (sixth), and the bet365 Gold Cup (pulled up), and this represents a more realistic assignment. On similar terms, and knowing he is capable of being primed to run well fresh, he is taken to avenge his narrow defeat by the reopposing Rivers Corner at Exeter (3m6f) in March.
1.15 Aintree: Order On Time
It was by no means a strong bumper that Order On Time won at Chepstow in April, but there was plenty to admire about the way in which he delivered, lengthening clear in the style of a potentially useful prospect, clocking a RaceiQ Top Speed of 36.59mph, and a Finishing Speed Percentage of 108.18%.
This £200,000 ex-pointer could be a real standard-bearer for Paul Nicholls this season, and with this extra half-mile virtually guaranteed to play to his strengths, should outclass his rivals in this 2m4f maiden hurdle.

1.50 Aintree: Taurus Bay
Following the protracted dry spell that has hindered preparations for so many trainers, Ben Pauling stated in a pre-race interview on Racing TV at Cheltenham on Friday that “a few of mine needed it yesterday [at Ffos Las],” and while that might also be the case for his chase debutant Taurus Bay, there are still valid reasons to think the five-year-old can go close in the Class 3 Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.
Successful in two of his four starts over hurdles, including when beating the subsequent Morebattle Hurdle winner Captain Hugo at this track last December, his overall form lines are strong. His short-head second to Kripticjim in the Grade 2 Classic Novices’ Hurdle - that winner a respectable sixth in the Albert Bartlett since - also illustrates his effectiveness on soft ground. Bought for £155,000 after winning his debut point (with various Rules winners behind), he has already shown that he has the aptitude for jumping fences.
