Graham Clark's Sunday tips: "Everything points to a big run"

By Graham Clark

Tipster and racing journalist Graham Clark has studied the form and makes a case for two selections at Hamilton, live on Racing TV, plus two at Plumpton on Sunday.

4.08 Plumpton: Gower Prince

Gower Prince has been in fine form over fences of late, and he can continue that good spell by cashing in off a 10lb lower mark over hurdles.
A switch of yards to Jonjo and AJ O’Neill team seems to have revived the eight year old, who has been placed on his last three starts, as does the reapplication of the hood.
This is a competitive race to be making the switch back to hurdles, and racing from out the weights is never ideal, but with the ground ideal he should be on the premises if translating that form back to smaller obstacles.

4.30 Hamilton: Draupnir

Draupnir has worked his way back down to a competitive mark and he showed more than enough last time out at Ripon to suggest that his time might be near
Although he has to concede weight all around, conditions should be fine for the Mick and David Easterby-trained gelding, which might not be the case for all of his rivals.
Given that he was only headed late on over a mile and a quarter, the drop back in trip to nine furlongs looks a positive move, while it was around this time last year that he registered his latest win.

4.38 Plumpton: Anxious Moments

The eye is immediately drawn to Anxious Moments, who could be a different proposition now switched to handicap company.
Although showing little in his three qualifier runs it would come as no surprise should he take a giant step forward in a race that won’t take much winning.
The step up in trip is an interesting move, and if the extra yardage helps his cause then he could be well treated off a mark of 77.

5.00 Hamilton: Flying Moonlight

Flying Moonlight only just went down in a prolonged battle last time out at Ayr, but he can gain compensation here.
That was his first start over a mile and a quarter, and he gave the impression on that occasion a further step up in trip could help him even further.
While these conditions are likely to be slower than what he has been racing on recently he showed earlier in the season he handles soft ground when finishing third at Ayr.
His cause is further boosted with the weight he receives of all his rivals, all of which points to a big run being on the cards.
