South African trainer Mike de Kock is to consider the BGC
Sussex Stakes for globetrotting ace Archipenko.
The five-year-old, who was fifth to Ramonti in the 2007 renewal when with Aidan O'Brien, is likely to have the Group One at Glorious
Goodwood on July 29 as an alternative to Chicago's Arlington Million, in which he was second last August.
"It is a possibility for him - we are keeping all of our options open at the moment. He could go for the Arlington Million once again, but Goodwood would be an obvious alternative for him," said De Kock.
"He has shown that he is effective over a mile and he ran a very good race when winning the Summer Mile at Ascot last year.
"I am returning to the UK next week and we will see how he's working before finalising where we go with him, but the
Sussex Stakes is certainly an option for him as things stand."
Others among a 57-strong entry for the one-mile showpiece include Richard Hannon's Paco Boy, Barry Hills' 1000 Guineas heroine Ghanaati, and Godolphin's duo of Alexandros and Gladiatorus. The 19 Irish-trained entries include 13 from the O'Brien stable, headed by Irish 2000 Guineas winner Mastercraftsman.
Compatriot John Oxx has left in Sea the Stars, brilliant winner of the Newmarket 2000 Guineas.
