Our man has two selections for the action in the north of England on Thursday, both of which are live on Racing TV.
3.10 Catterick: Safari Dream
Safari Dream did me a favour in an apprentice handicap at Salisbury last time out and doesn’t get a penalty turned out quickly. The Millman gelding is in open company here so his same promising apprentice Jake Dickson can claim his full 7lb allowance which is proving to be very good value. The six-year-old has been a prolific winner over the years and his chance is obvious with ground and trip in his favour; he should follow up.
4.50 Catterick: Filey Beach
Filey Beach is another recent winner of an apprentice handicap who escapes a penalty in his bid for a follow up. The six-year-old has only had three runs since being back with Ruth Carr but has improved with each of them, and looks to have settled in very well to his new surroundings. He has bagged a good draw in stall one for a horse who races aggressively and though there are other pace pushers in opposition, he looks set to be able to hold his position.
