Dave Nevison's Saturday tips: 16-1 Stewards' Cup contender among five best bets

Top tipster Dave Nevison has three selections for Saturday's action on the final day of Glorious Goodwood, including two against the field in the Coral Stewards' Cup, plus shares his best bets from Thirsk and Hamilton Park. Watch all three meetings live on Racing TV.

1.50 Goodwood: Nightime Dancer

The last two runs need to be explained away, Nightime Dancer was simply below form at Royal Ascot and then didn’t settle in blinkers for the first time in a slowly run race at the same track last time out.
The Hannon runner, now a gelding, was thought good enough to run in the Derby last season and didn’t do too badly finishing in midfield, but stayed on well to suggest this sort of trip might suit him well.
He then went on to run Scandinavia to a respectable second in the Bahrain Trophy, once again looking a stayer. He is running at 14 furlongs for the first time today and, in a race that does look set to be run at a strong pace, I feel he could be worth an each-way bet in this traditional trial for the Ebor later this month.

3.35 Goodwood: Far Above Dream / Annaf

James Owen certainly cannot blame the draw if Far Above Dream gets beat in the Stewards' Cup as his was the first name to be pulled out of the hat and it was unsurprising that he chose a stall amongst the high numbers.
He has a very strong contender here as Far Above Dream has improved throughout the last 12 months and has won three times here at Goodwood from three appearances at the track.
The four-year-old ran an absolute blinder in the Wokingham at Ascot and I feel strongly that the much stiffer Ascot track just caught him out. The standard time at Ascot is 3.40 seconds slower than Goodwood and that stiff last two furlongs might just have found him out. He was beaten just one and a quarter lengths, but at this track, he can easily turn things around. I feel he is a very worthy favourite.
Annaf is my saver and looks to be a sprinter who has run himself back into top form judging by recent good efforts. He ran really well last time over a slightly extended five furlongs and will be much better suited by this step back up in trip.
The Mick Appleby-trained gelding endured a nightmare run in last year's Stewards' Cup and was locked up going markedly well for the first four furlongs and simply couldn’t get through. He might have even been placed with anything like a clear run and is 7lb lower today.

3.47 Thirsk: Angel Hunter

Angel Hunter is another decent-priced Hannon runner that I can see running very well this weekend. He won on the all-weather off a mark of 89 earlier this year and is able to run off a mark 1lb lower on turf in this despite running really well to be beaten less than a length into fourth place in a very hot handicap at York recently.
He has done well with the draw here in stall 13 and there is plenty of pace on, which should be ideal. Richard Hannon has been giving Seamus Cronin plenty of chances this summer and the 5lb claimer is taking the eye, riding plenty of winners for the yard and looks a strong booking. The claim might put Angel Hunter in very lightly.

7.30 Hamilton: Corolla Point

Corolla Point has been a beaten favourite on each of his runs this season which is obviously frustrating for backers, but I doubt any of his supporters are feeling they are not getting a run for their money.
The ex-Godolphin horse has been running very well and I feel this return to Hamilton Park and running on easy ground for the first time in a while may just be enough to get his head in front once again.
