Star set for Flat bow

Alan Fleming is planning to give Starluck a spin on the Flat before turning his attentions to the forthcoming jumps season.The Irishman was provided with a remarkable opportunity in the limelight as he settled down for his first season as a trainer in Britain by saddling Starluck to win three juvenile hurdles in a row. The strong-travelling gelding went on to finish fourth in the Triumph Hurdle and third at Aintree. "The summer has gone well for the horse and he will be up to doing a gallop soon," said Fleming, who is based near Dorking. "I'd like to try to give him a run on the Flat shortly. Hopefully I can find a handicap or a conditions race. Then I think the hurdle at Kempton in mid-October (the Wbx.com Hurdle) would be the perfect place to start. All's well and hopefully he can improve."
