4.10 Newmarket: Proposal (Nap)

5/2

Previous brings some useful Listed form to her name on soft ground, but her race fitness has to be taken on trust, unlike Proposal.

The William Haggas-trained filly has been campaigned relatively sparingly, but she has run consistently well all season despite only posting the one success.

Having appeared slightly outpaced late on over seven furlongs at Thirsk last time out, the return to a mile looks sure to benefit.

Any rain that falls shouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience given how she handled good to soft ground last time out, and in receipt of weight all round she looks primed to go close.

5.20 Newmarket: Wolf Bay

12/1

Wolf Bay has shown there are races to be won with him on his past two starts, and he holds strong claims here of opening his account at the fifth attempt.

A second at Windsor on his third start was backed up by filling the same spot of an opening mark 78 in a seven furling nursery at Haydock Park.

On a day where it paced to race handy, the son of Lope Y Fernandez was one of the only real closers from the rear of the field.

The performance showed he can handle testing ground, and although nudged up a pound for that defeat, that is negated with Harry Vigors five pound claim, which could be vital in what looks a competitive race.

6.30 Kempton: Babzini

T: Eve Johnson Houghton

9/1

Babzini has shown useful elements of form behind some smart individuals without getting her head in front, but a step up in trip could help her finally unlock her potential.

Although she failed to cash in on her opening mark of 68 on her nursery debut at Leicester last time out she was hampered late on which didn’t help her cause.

The manner in which she finished over six furlongs that day suggested she would be appreciative of the extra furlong.

Her mark remains unchanged, and with a good low draw to work from in stall three, she could prove hard to pass if taking to the surface.

7.00 Kempton : Synergism

14/1

Synergism has been well-held in his most recent two starts on the turf, but a switch back to all-weather could help him return to form.

Having beaten just one rival in his past two starts an element of trust has to be taken in the Sir Mark Prescott-trained gelding

Testing conditions might not have been to his liking last time out at Goodwood, while the switch back to hold up tactics failed to work the time before that at Ascot.

However, the return to Kempton Park is a major plus with the son of Soldier Hollow winning two of his three starts at the track.

And although he remains three pounds above his last winning mark he has an ideal draw to work from in stall five which is another plus.
