In-form tipster Dave Nevison makes a case for three selections at Kempton on Wednesday evening, live on Racing TV, with his nap of the day running in the 6.15.

6.15 Kempton: Goomah (nap)

Has run two really good races since she came over from Ireland, and can make it third time lucky for her new trainer John Butler here.

She has arrived at a yard that is in good form, and she seems more relaxed these days in her racing, based on those two efforts for Butler. As a result, she has shown improved form, too.

The handicapper has not changed her mark, but I don’t think Goomah needs to be dropped to be able to win a handicap such as this.

She has a good draw in stall three and, provided they do not go at a crawl, I am confident David Egan can settle her, plus deliver her to go close, at least.

7.45 Kempton: Star Time

Star Time caught the eye, despite only finishing sixth, on his penultimate start at Haydock when his rider made a sweeping move to challenge too early, and after looking like winning, the Alan King-trained gelding faded back into sixth.

Better timing would have seen Star Time go close in that race, and contenders from that race have produced some good subsequent runs, so it looks a strong race for the grade.

David Probert made no mistake last time out, and the four-year-old won by four lengths over this course and distance. A 7lb rise might be lenient, and with the yard continuing in good form, Star Time looks like following up.

8.15 Kempton: Strong Voice

Strong Voice was trying to end a run of seconds in handicaps over this trip last time out in a 0-70 handicap over this course and distance. James Horton’s grey has not had the best of luck and stumbled at the start there, plus then had a troubled run through, and could only manage fourth.

However, he showed enough to suggest Strong Voice is still in good form, and I take the view his luck must turn at some point. A pound lower in the weights here, and with a good low draw to help, Strong Voice deserves a change of luck.
