7 MUSICAL TIMES

Lope De Vega - Dubai Fountain (Teofilo)
T: Charlie Appleby. J: William Buick. Best odds: 1-2.
Three from three, Godolphin’s relative to the dual Group One runner-up Real World has been virtually faultless so far, racking up wins at Newmarket’s July Course, York and Doncaster.
Her most impressive performance, and by some way, came on Town Moor last time, where she effortlessly stretched seven and a half lengths clear of the re-opposing Scommessa Sicura to win the Group Two May Hill Stakes. She had beaten that same rival by a neck on debut three months previously.
That was her first start over a mile, so there are no problems with the trip and she looks versatile with regards to running style too having made the running and also taken a lead in her three races so far.

9 ROGUE PASSION

Sioux Nation - Vazire (Frankel)
T: Ed Bethell. J: Rossa Ryan. Best odds: 10-3.
This hugely progressive filly did not break her maiden tag until the third attempt, but she has earned this step up to Group One level after winning the Group Two Prix d’Aumale at Longchamp last month.
That form was boosted significantly at the weekend, so it was no surprise to see Ed Bethell’s filly shorten up slightly in the market for this race subsequently. Runner-up Amusingly won the Group One Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere against the colts and third-placed Data finished a close second behind Green Empress in the Group One Prix Marcel Boussac.
It must be said that Amusingly may have beaten Rogue Passion with a smoother run, but this is clearly strong form and she should not be underestimated, especially on what looks likely to be similarly fast ground.

3 FORBIDDEN FIRE

No Nay Never - Arabian Queen (Dubawi)
T: Andrew Balding. J: Oisin Murphy. Best odds: 10-1.
The beautifully bred Forbidden Fire got off the mark at the first attempt at Sandown in August, winning by five and a half lengths. Though the form of that race has not worked out especially well, the manner of her victory was hugely impressive.
Connections mooted the Cheveley Park Stakes as a likely target after that, but the daughter of Arabian Queen was stepped up to seven furlongs last time to contest the Flying Scotsman Stakes where she won again, this time by a head.
She is not the biggest filly, but has a smart turn of foot and there is every chance she will stay a mile too.

4 HAVEN

Wootton Bassett - Light The Stars (Sea The Stars)
T: Aidan O’Brien. Best odds: 12-1.
One of six possible runners for Aidan O’Brien, she failed to land a blow on debut at Galway but improved to take second next time out and then won by three lengths at Dundalk on her most recent start a week and a half ago.
From the family of Lope De Vega and out of a Sea The Stars mare who won over a mile and a quarter, she should stay this extra furlong but needs to improve on the bare level of her form in what would be her first run outside of maiden company.

6 LEX VICTORIA

Sioux Nation - Porthilly (Pivotal)
T: Simon and Ed Crisford. Best odds: 12-1.
Lex Victoria bids to keep the Group One haul going for Victorious Forever and it is no surprise to see connections pitch her into the top-level after a runaway four-length novice success at Kempton last month under a penalty.
That came off the back of a gutsy debut victory on the July Course and, though she is not a certain stayer, her running style suggests she may well see out an extra furlong. She is a possible pace angle in the race.

1 DANCING DESTINY

Magna Grecia - Dancing Approach
T: Joseph O’Brien. Best odds: 25-1.
The most experienced filly in the field, the daughter of Magna Grecia has won two of her seven starts, and has finished in the first four in every race.
Her form is strong, too, and she is improving. Given an opening mark of 86, she then went on to finish second in a Group Three and then filled the same spot in the Group Two Debutante Stakes, just a neck behind winner stablemate and subsequent Prix Marcel Boussac heroine Green Empress.
Last seen finishing third in the Moyglare behind that same rival and Sun Goddess, she would be stepping up a furlong in trip here, but she has won a Listed race over a mile, so it is unlikely to be the trip that beats her.

2 EXCEPTIONALLY

Into Mischief - Together Forever (Musical Times)
T: Aidan O’Brien. Best odds: 33-1.
Exceptionally has an interesting pedigree, being by outstanding US dirt sire Into Mischief and out of Together Forever, who won this race in 2014. Though she is a half-sister to City Of Troy, she is unlikely to follow in the hoofprints of her mother and win this race having failed to win in her five starts so far.
She did, however, look an eye-catcher when fourth in a one-mile Group Three in August, and this trip looks her bare minimum.

10 SCOMMESSA SICURA

Cracksman - Pure Art (Dutch Art)
T: Andrew Balding. Best odds: 50-1.
Events at Newmarket this week could have a big say in the trainers’ championship, with Andrew Balding hoping to cling onto his narrow lead over Aidan O’Brien.
Balding has plenty of darts left to fire at some of the big races remaining this season, but this daughter of Cracksman has seven and a half lengths to find with Musical Times from the May Hill.
She is, however, yet to finish outside of the first two in six starts (five times a runner-up) and though it looks a tough ask to reverse form, she has each-way claims if taking a small step forward.

11 SO LOVELY

Wootton Bassett - Love (Galileo)
T: Aidan O’Brien. Best odds: 50-1.
The Prix Marcel Boussac fifth was only beaten two lengths by winner Green Empress at Longchamp, outrunning her odds of 39-1, but with just a maiden victory to her name, this looks a tough assignment.
A daughter of multiple middle-distance Group One winner Love, expect to see her show more over further next season.

5 IBELIEVEICANFLY

Frankel - That Which Is Not (Elusive Quality)
T: Aidan O’Brien. Best odds: 66-1.
Daughter of Frankel was last seen finishing eighth in the Prix Marcel Boussac and has not quite kicked on since her sole win, a five-length victory over stablemate Speckles in a Curragh fillies’ conditions race in August.

8 NEVERMINDTHERAIN

No Nay Never - April Showers (Galileo)
T: Aidan O’Brien. Best odds: 66-1.
Tenth in the Prix Marcel Boussac, she is still a maiden and looks to be out of her depth here. She has shown a useful level of form nevertheless, finishing third in Group Three company over seven furlongs, and she is capable of getting further black type down in grade.

12 SPECKLES

No Nay Never - Seventh Heaven (Galileo)
T: Aidan O’Brien. Best odds: 66-1.
Another maiden after four starts, she is yet to get close to winning and was beaten eight and a half lengths when third in the Park Hill behind Musical Times and Scommessa Sicura.
Like many in the race, this daughter of Yorkshire and Irish Oaks winner Seventh Heaven may be seen to better effect when upped in distance.
