Ed Crisford seeing the summer out at home before Dubai move

Ed Crisford will see out the rest of the Flat season training in partnership alongside his father Simon, with his impending move to Dubai now happening in October.
Crisford joined his father on the licence in 2020 and the pair have celebrated plenty of big-race success, both at home and abroad, including dual Group One winner Vandeek.
The Crisfords also have a satellite yard in Dubai, yielding top-quality performances from Dubai Turf runner-up Quddwah, Dubai World Cup third Meydaan and the Jumeirah 2000 Guineas winner Title Role in the winter. Algiers was runner-up in the Dubai World Cup in 2023.
The 35-year-old announced in April he will take up the position as private trainer to owner Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the Middle East, with the relocation mooted for August.
However, initial plans will be delayed by two months as Crisford revealed he will remain at Gainsborough Stables until the autumn.
“It’s off-season now so I’m actually going to go full-time in October,” Crisford said.
“I will relocate after the sales. It’s the off-season out there, with all the yearlings sales coming up and I need to be doing them so I think once that happens, I’ll go out properly.
“I’m not nervous at all because I’ve lived there my whole life. I’ve grown up there, I went to school there when I was a kid and my dad was at Godolphin. I know it very well so I’m not nervous at all.
“There’s lots going on at Gainsborough and with my dad, and it’s nice to see the season out and go there afterwards.”
